Thailand Product & Destination Update: Jan 2024

New products, destination updates and other updates from EXO Thailand for January 2024

Welcome to the first EXO Thailand product and destination update of 2024! As we wrap up a busy January, we want to keep you informed on all the happenings across our country.

Products

We have an enticing new hands-on Chiang Mai cultural experience and a new experience in the South that showcases the region’s spectacular beauty.

Hotels

This month we are highlighting four hotels. One is an old favourite in Samui that has had a bit of a facelift, another is a unique option just outside of Chiang Mai that we recently inspected, offering peace and serenity in a luxury setting. While we are in the north, we also wished to remind you of a classic middle-0f-the0road option in Chiang Rai. Finally, if you are struggling to find a solid budget option in the capital, look no further than this month’s Bangkok hotel spotlight.

Other key takeaways:

  • Hotels in Thailand have made marked improvement in recent months in terms of service and overall guest experience. We have conducted dozens of inspections in recent months and are pleased to report that nearly all are back to pre-pandemic standards.
  • In the months ahead, we are developing new products in key areas and as well as off-the-beaten track locations. Stay tuned for updates in future newsletters!
  • In 2024, we are also focusing on developing a wider range of unique luxury experiences and exciting options for families.

New & featured hotels

Unique Boutique Luxury close to Chiang Mai

Located on the banks of the Ping River, just a 15-minute drive from the heart of Chiang Mai’s old town, Raya Heritage offers guests an atmosphere of calm and serenity in which to discover the unique charms of northern Thai culture.

The property boasts 33 luxury suites set amid lush green gardens. Inspired by the spirit of Lanna culture, Raya Heritage offers a contemporary take on local traditions with touches of handwoven textiles, artefacts and wood carvings featured throughout.

Boutique in the centre of Lanna Kingdom

Situated on the banks of Mae Kok River, away from Chiang Rai’s busy city centre is Legend Chiang Rai, is a charming, reliable mid-range hotel.

Its 78 studios and villas are furnished with large beddings, teakwood furniture and a spacious open-air seating area and feature northern Thai architectural details and local artwork.

Some rooms also have their own private pool and garden perfect for relaxing while enjoying views of the river.

Natural tropical luxury

Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui sits on 28 acres of breath-taking tropical land which includes a long stretch of sandy beach frontage on the north-eastern side of the island.

The recent rebrand infuses Garrya’s 5s into the new property – guidance on Self-care practices, Simplicity in the design of spaces and amenities, Slow Life to promote slowing down amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, recommendations to improve Sleep & Rest, and Savouring of food for nourishment.  An upscale haven to refresh both body and soul, the resort’s multi-purpose suites and villas offer unobstructed views of the Gulf of Thailand.

Affordable boutique

The Rose Residence Bangkok is a retreat from the urban sprawl that is the Thai capital. Located just off Surawongse Road in the heart of the city, this secluded enclave offers a respite from the metropolis’ vibrancy.

Heritage-style boutique design blended naturally with Thai elements make this a top seller amongst EXO’s hotel portfolio. If you’re not already recommending this option to guests looking for something more affordable you are missing out. Your guests will be ecstatic, superb value for money.
